THE HUMMINGBIRD is the story of a brother and sister, separated not only by their differences, but time itself. Cristina Schneider, a typical early 21st century professional, is struggling to keep her family together after her brother Sam suddenly disappears, leaving behind his wife and three kids.

Meanwhile, Sam, after nearly a year working as a lay servant in a 12th century Burgundian monastery, is struggling to keep his adopted family together after their Abbot takes a turn for the deranged – a turn to which Sam fears he is also falling prey.

After months of searching, Cristina comes to realize that Sam is lost in time – and it is up to her to give up the life she knows to search for him across time and continents, with the help of a strange stern-faced man who appears in her waking dreams.

THE HUMMINGBIRD is a story at the intersection of the past and the present, fate and responsibility, the construction of personality and the weight of the eternal. It will appeal to readers who enjoyed, for example, The Little Book by Selden Edwards or Doomsday Book by Connie Willis.
