Writers House was founded in 1973 and has since become one of the largest and most well-respected literary agencies in the world. We believe in offering our clients not only our expertise in negotiating contracts, but in contributing to all phases of the editorial and publishing processes as well as leading the way in branding, licensing, and selling foreign, audio, and dramatic rights.

I joined Writers House in 2008 and am actively building my client list, exclusively representing children's and young adult authors and illustrators. I have a soft spot for magical, inspiring, soul-strengthening middle-grade fiction - if your novel makes the reader want to clutch the book to her chest or sleep with it under his pillow at night, I’d love to read it.

I’m also interested in literary fiction as well as high-concept fantasy/adventure novels, ones that incorporate a unique twist on existing mythologies or history or introduce readers to a previously undiscovered world.

For young adult audiences, I’d love to find sharp, realistic and even gritty contemporary fiction, thrillers, or any novel with a unique and compelling voice. I’m a huge fan of classic films, anything hinting at film noir, secret societies, and espionage, and especially books that both challenge and shape the reader’s worldview, and I would likely be drawn to submissions that touch on these areas.

I’m also open to receiving submissions of picture book text and am actively building a portfolio of illustrator clients. If you’ve written a funny, quirky, or just plain happiness-inducing picture book, please send it my way.
